Blandair Regional Park is one of the county's premier destinations for sports events. Amenities now available include three lighted synthetic turf multipurpose fields, press boxes and bleachers, two lighted synthetic baseball fields with bleachers, five lighted tennis courts along with a shade structure, parking lots offering electric vehicle chargers, paved walking trails that connect to the Downtown Columbia Pathway, and playgrounds. In the West area of Blandair, you can find the turf fields, a playground, and bleachers.
There are two large playground sections within a short drive or bike ride to each other. Located in the North Area of Blandair, the newly-constructed Laura's Place playground is fully enclosed with a fence, and it offers play areas designated by age: a Farm area, Dinosaur area, and Spaceship area. It is an ADA-compliant "Play-for-All" playground with non-verbal communication boards. Colorful surfacing ensures that visitors with and without mobility devices can navigate to each section of the playground. You can also find an area with three bocce courts, two croquet courts, and two horseshoe pitches.
Located in the East area, the free outdoor Challenge Course offers obstacles. Hit the timer, and take part in Ninja Steps, the Vault Wall, U-Turn Ramp, and more! The East area is also where the baseball fields and tennis courts are located. Blandair Park is conveniently located on Oakland Mills Road, one-third of a mile north past the intersection of Old Montgomery Road and Oakland Mills Road. Open from 7 a.m. to sunset. Offers water fountains throughout the park.
Once the final phase is complete, the park will be 300 acres. Next phase improvements include a skate park, basketball courts, pickleball courts, additional pathways, shade shelters, and parking.
